Bucksburn Academy 'Together We Achieve'
Bucksburn Academy is a secondary school in the northwest of Aberdeen, Scotland. The school serves the areas of Bucksburn, Bankhead, Kingswells, Newhills and Stoneywood, with a close partnership with neighboring Dyce Academy. The academy has been involved with several sustainability and conservation based projects since its opening in 2009. Students have had the opportunity to take part in:
Tree planting with the John Muir Castles Project
The Sclattie Woodland Project
Improving green spaces in the Bucksburn/Dyce areas
A John Muir course teaching about conservation and Scottish wildlife
The Re-Thinking Energy Project
Kemnay Academy 'Be the Best You Can Be'
Kemnay Academy is a secondary school in the village of Kemnay, Aberdeenshire, 26km West of Aberdeen. In addition to Kemnay residents the academy also serves the surrounding communities of Kintore and Blackburn. Included in the schools vision statement are encouragement of learning for a sustainable world and development of community resilience and equity. The school provides extracurricular opportunities for students to get involved in the areas of conservation and sustainability, including the Environmental Action Group and Senior Sustainability Leaders.
